NEUERO reports recent installationDry Cargo International (January 2004)Neuero has just commissioned a 500 tph shiploader, SL500-DS at Raiffeisen Hauptgenossenschaft Nord AG (HaGe) in Kiel, Germany. Owing to space limitations at the facility, the loader is permanently connected to the existing ship unloader via a pin structure that joins their respective bogies. In order to save space further, the unit's electric panels and hydraulic system are installed in the unloader, thereby eliminating the need for an external cabin. This is also the case for the operator cabin that is located in the unloader. The operator can also choose to work on the ship's deck via radio remote control. Product is delivered from the quay conveyor outlets every 20 metres to a short screw and then to a bucket elevator. The elevator feeds the horizontal boom conveyor - which is capable of both luffing and slewing movements. At the end of the horizontal boom, the product enters the vertical telescopic spout, which has a kick-in, kick-out movement, to facilitate access to the hatch. At the end of the spout is the dust suppression head which both slows down the material flow and feeds it into the hatch from a lower height thereby reducing dust emissions. The air displaced by the grain is collected by the filter on the horizontal boom. The filter "dedusts" the loading spout and the intake coming from the bucket elevator.
