NEUERO loader kicks off in KielBulk Materials International (November/December 2003)Germany-based Neuero has commissioned a 500 t/h shiploader, SL500-DS, at commodity trader Raiffeisen Hauptgenossenschaft Nord AG (HaGe) in the coastal city of Kiel, Germany. Owing to space limitations at the facility, the loader is permanently connected to the existing ship unloader via a pin that joins their respective bogies. In order to save space further, the unit's electric panels and hydraulic system are installed in the unloader thereby eliminating the need for an external cabin. Product is delivered from the quay conveyor to a bucket elevator. The elevator feeds the horizontal boom conveyor - which is capable of both luffing and slewing movements. At the end of the horizontal boom the product enters the vertical telescopic spout, which has a kick-in, kick-out movement, to facilitate access to the hatch. At the end of the spout is the dust suppression head which both slows down the material flow and feeds it into the hatch from a lower height thereby reducing dust emissions. The air displaced by the grain is collected by the filter of the unit's horizontal boom.
The SL500-DS from Neuero is fully compliant with exacting German environmental standards
